Is this a known problem or is there some better way to force the client to use SMB (2?) or SMB 1. This forces Windows 10 to use SMB 1.50, which works. The only workaround we've found is to disable SMB2/SMB3 on the Windows 10 clients. On the Hitachi NAS appliance we're using SMB2 as the default server protocol, but for testing purposes we've also tried SMB3 - with the same results.Įverything works well with Windows 7 and Windows 8 (all versions). Trying to use "net view ileserver." we get a "System error 53 has occurred." "The Network path was not found". Trying to access the fileserver using File Explorer we get a: "Windows cannot access ileserver." and an "Error code: 0x80004005" with an "Unspecified error". Installing Windows Technical Preview we can no longer access files on this NAS appliance. Netgear Genie is useful and easy-to-use, however, it needs some further optimization.
